Manufacturing Engineer

Are you someone with innovative ideas and willing to venture into new directions? Then we would like to hear from you! Our client a global manufacturer of automotive components is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer.

Assigned Processes: Turning, Hard Turn, Milling/Drilling (in lathe), Grinding, Wire Brush, Part Marking, Heat Treat Processes, or other areas as assigned by Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Will be assigned as primary engineer for one or more manufacturing processes with the following
Responsibilities:
Primary contact for all issues related to assigned process (including: production, maintenance, supplier, headquarters, etc).
Projects related to the assigned process such as: parts handling, specification sheets, inquiries, run-off through final acceptance.
Standardization of tools, coolant, fixtures, gages, etc. across all machines in the assigned process.
Lead improvement projects (regarding training, costs, safety, maintenance, material flow, cycle time, machine availability, etc.) for the assigned process that will involve a cross-functional team (operators, supervisors, quality, maintenance, etc.)
Accurately document machine parameters or programs.
Create and maintain work instructions or setup instructions
Train operators
Work with maintenance to ensure the optimum availability of spare parts for the assigned process
Provide support for the development of quotations for a new customer or product.
Support troubleshooting efforts to ensure that machines are production-ready within 24 hours.
Conduct and maintain process capability studies for each machine, product, or group within the assigned process.
Review, analyze and improve downtime or scrap to ensure maximum productivity and machine availability.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Confers with suppliers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four year Engineering Degree, Mechanical Engineering preferred, or Associated Degree with equivalent experience. Metallurgy degree and/or experience required for Engineers assigned to Heat Treat Processes. Preference given to candidates with three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
